Sisters New Knit Outfits - Thread Faction SS2016

Hi! Today I am showcasing new coordinating knit outfits I made for my girls as part of the Thread Faction SS2016 tour.

Do you know Thread Faction patterns? (formerly Hatchlings patterns)
It's a pattern company owned by the amazingly talented Liz Elliott, who lives in Australia. Believe me, you want to know these patterns! I am so (so!) impressed by their overall quality!

Thread Faction just launched a new pattern collection. The Spring/Summer 2016 collection presents several knit girls patterns. (But you can hack a few of them into boys patterns! Just check what my friend Diana did here. Super cute, right?)

There's a mix of 7 patterns that make up for the perfect beach/Summer styles: shorts, romper, circle skirt dress, racer back tank & dress, boxy top, etc. They are all super trendy and easy to make! And the best part: Liz makes use of all the proper techniques for sewing with knits. These patterns will take you to the next level on your sewing skills!

Baby sewing, because baby #4 is on his way!... Also, One Thimble #11 is out!!

Hi everyone! Is it Spring already in your corner of the (northern) woods? I can't wait for Spring to show up for good. It has been raining a lot with some occasional sunny days now and then... It seems this year we are heading from Winter straight to Summer with no Spring in between... At the same time, I am enjoying all the beautiful Fall photos of the southern hemisphere. I love Spring but I also love Fall.

Today I am joining the One Thimble issue 11 blog tour with some... baby sewing! Baby #4 is on his way!!! (If you follow me on Instagram you have already heard the good news!)

It was a huge surprise since we were not expecting any more babies, but we are all very, very happy! The kids are really excited and I can't wait for them to meet their baby brother. <3 The best, most important and truly valuable thing we can give our kids are siblings. There are no material things, iPhones, iPads, high-end clothes, trips to the Disneyland or to foreign countries that can match the happiness and value of having brothers and sisters.

From My Mother To Me

This picture was taken in 1957 at my grandfather's sewing machine store. He was a sewing machine dealer of Singer machines through several years. How fun is that? My mom was 3 years-old and she was wearing an handmade dress.

She has had an almost 100% handmade wardrobe as a child and even as a teenager. I love going through her photos and looking closer to all her outfits. These were the days where people would go to dressmakers in order to get their clothes made. My mom has always had an amazing wardrobe, full of lovely girl clothes and of stylish teenage dresses - the 60's style in all its glory!

She kept having some of her clothes handmade by dressmakers when she became an adult. Overall I think her wardrobe was 50-50 handmade / RTW when I was a child. But one thing was common: she had an impeccable sense of style!
